Mission Statement The mission of Healthy You Network, Inc. is to provide education about the lifelong health benefits of whole food, plant-based nutrition to residents of Southern Arizona. Toward that end, Healthy You will undertake the following activities: Hold an annual Healthy You! Symposium for conscientious eating. Present cooking classes that teach participants how to prepare whole food, plant-based meals. Make presentations to Southern Arizona groups detailing the advantages of whole food, plant-based nutrition. Offer potluck meals that enable attendees to exchange information and recipes pertaining to whole food, plant-based nutrition. Act as a catalytic networking agent for Southern Arizona businesses, nonprofits, and individuals in promoting the lifelong benefits of whole food, plant-based nutrition.
Definition of a Whole Food, Plant-Based Diet An ideal whole food, plant-based diet emphasizes vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, beans, seeds, and nuts. It features unprocessed or minimally processed foods and excludes all animal products, including dairy, eggs, and fish. A person following a healthy whole food, plant-based diet also strives to exclude all added oil, sugar, and salt. "
